Samsung Galaxy C9 Pro, the company’s first 6GB RAM phone launched in India for Rs. 36,900

It looks like Samsung is on a song at the moment. The South Korean smartphone company, today morning unveiled the entry-level Galaxy J2 Ace and Galaxy J1 4G smartphones in India, and at the end of the day, we have another launch coming from the same company itself. Dubbed as the Samsung Galaxy C9 Pro, it is the smartphone to boast of several firsts’.

Yes, the Samsung Galaxy C9 Pro is the company’s first smartphone to come with 6GB of RAM and 16MP front-facing camera. The smartphone will be available for pre-booking from January 27 and will the shipping will start next month.

The smartphone features specifications that are almost similar to the massive Galaxy A9 Pro released in India five months ago. Having said that, the Galaxy C9 Pro comes with the same display size of 6-inch and retains the same 1080p resolution. At the heart of the phone is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 653 SoC aided with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The storage can be further expandable up to 256GB via a microSD card slot.

Adreno 510 GPU will take the graphics performance on the phone. Camera wise, the Galaxy C9 Pro comes with a 16MP rear facing camera that additionally has support for PDAF technology and f/1.9 aperture. Frontal, there is a 16MP front-facing camera as well with the same f/1.9 aperture.

In terms of connectivity, the Galaxy C9 Pro comes with several options such as Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, 4G VoLTE support, Bluetooth 4.2, and an aided GPS chip. Sadly, there is no support for NFC. The smartphone is armed with a 4000mAh battery and runs Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow with Samsung’s own proprietary TouchWiz user interface.
The Samsung Galaxy C9 Pro is priced at Rs. 36,900, which we feel is overpriced as there are several other alternatives with much better hardware in the form of OnePlus 3T, Xiaomi Mi 5, LeEco Le Max 2. The phone will be available in two color options: black and gold.
