Tele2 said that the Estonian unit will be the first operator in the world to use the 2100 MHz band, that is usually reserved for 3G services, to deploy 4G network.

It aims to have the fastest 4G network in the globe by using the 2100 Mhz band. Using tri-carrier aggregation, the operator is aiming for speeds of 375 Mbps. Increases in capacity and coverage will also be supported by the use of software-defined networking from the latest generation Nokia equipment.

After this deployment, many operators are likely to follow in deploying 4G on 2100 Mhz on tri-carrier aggregation since spectrum is quite less & 4G is gaining momentum.
