As of November 2025, Bharti Airtel reported a 5G FWA subscriber base of 2,765,883 (an addition of 251,095), while Reliance Jio reported 7,646,142 (an addition of 250,274) 5G FWA users, bringing the total to 10,412,025. Reliance Jio reported 3,187,263 Fixed Wireless (UBR) subscribers during the month, an addition of 351,757, representing a monthly growth of 12.41 percent.
Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited began reporting the number of UBR FWA subscribers from August 2025, according to the report. UBR FWA subscription stood at 3.19 million at the end of November 2025 with subscriptions in urban and rural areas of 2.26 million and 0.93 million respectively. The shares of urban and rural wireless (UBR FWA) subscribers in total wireless (UBR FWA) subscribers were 70.95 percent and 29.05 percent respectively, at the end of November 2025.
Gain and Loss of Wireless Subscribers
Bharti Airtel added 1,215,405 (1.22 million) wireless subscribers, BSNL added 421,514 (0.42 million) subscribers, and Reliance Jio added 1,388,929 (1.39 million) subscribers. Meanwhile, Vodafone Idea lost 1,011,134 (1.01 million) wireless subscribers during the month, and public sector unit (PSU) MTNL lost 7,530 subscribers.
Except Himachal Pradesh, J&K, Assam and Haryana, all other LSAs have shown growth in their wireless (Mobile) subscribers during the month of November 2025, according to the report.
Wireless Market Share of Operators
As of November 30, 2025, private access service providers held 92.06 percent of the market share in terms of wireless (mobile) subscribers, while BSNL and MTNL, the two PSU access service providers, together held a 7.94 percent share.
This translates to Reliance Jio holding a 41.41 percent market share with 486.09 million wireless subscribers, Bharti Airtel with a 33.64 percent market share and 394.88 million wireless subscribers, Vodafone Idea with a 17.01 percent market share and 199.71 million wireless subscribers, BSNL with a 7.92 percent market share and 92.96 million wireless subscribers, and MTNL with a 0.02 percent market share and 0.24 million wireless subscribers.
Wireless Access Broadband Subscribers
Reliance Jio reported 496.92 million wireless broadband (fixed wireless and mobile) subscribers, followed by Bharti Airtel with 304.21 million, Vodafone Idea with 127.74 million, and BSNL with 29.4 million subscribers, as on November 30, 2025.
Wireline Telephone Subscriber Base
Wireline subscribers increased from 46.75 million at the end of October 2025 to 47.05 million at the end of November 2025. The net increase in the wireline subscriber base was 0.30 million with a monthly growth rate of 0.63 percent.
In the wireline segment:
- Reliance Jio held a 30.92 percent market share with 14,546,896 subscribers, adding 170,492 subscribers during the month.
- Bharti Airtel accounted for a 22.88 percent share with 10,765,537 subscribers, adding 79,756 subscribers.
- Vodafone Idea held a 1.76 percent market share with 828,237 subscribers, adding 14,400 subscribers.
- Meanwhile, BSNL held a 15.97 percent market share with 7,514,716 subscribers, losing 8,095 subscribers during November 2025.
M2M Cellular Connections
According to the report, the number of M2M (Machine-to-Machine) cellular mobile connections increased from 98.87 million at the end of October 2025 to 103.48 million at the end of November 2025.
- Bharti Airtel had 63.08 million M2M connections, accounting for a 60.96 percent market share.
- Reliance Jio recorded 18.60 million M2M connections, with a 17.97 percent market share.
- Vodafone Idea had 18.16 million M2M connections, translating to a 17.55 percent market share.
- BSNL accounted for 3.65 million M2M connections, with a 3.52 percent market share.
Active Wireless Subscribers
Out of the total 1173.88 million wireless (mobile) subscribers, 1090.91 million wireless (mobile) subscribers were active on the date of peak VLR in the month of November 2025. The proportion of active wireless (mobile) subscribers was approximately 92.93 percent of the total wireless (mobile) subscriber base, according to TRAI. Airtel reported a peak VLR of 98.81 percent during the month, BSNL 58.47 percent, Vodafone Idea (Vi) 84.59 percent, MTNL 144.76 percent, and Reliance Jio 98.15 percent. Active wireless subscribers are based on VLR data.
