Looks like Xiaomi has got a real competitor in the Indian market in the form of 10.or (pronounced as Tenor). Earlier this month, 10.or entered the Indian market with a smartphone called 10.or E. The 10.or E was placed in the entry-level segment. And today, the brand has launched yet another smartphone named 10.or G, which is aimed for mid-range buyers.

The 10.or G is priced at Rs. 10,999 and Rs. 12,999 and comes in two variants differentiated with RAM and internal storage. The 10.or G is a true competitor to India's best-selling smartphone, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4. Like the 10.or E, the 10.or G is also exclusive to Amazon India.

Diving into the specifications of the 10.or G, it offers a 5.5-inch Full Hd display with a 2.5D curved glass and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection on top. The smartphone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 626 SoC, which is a marginal upgrade over the popular Snapdragon 625 SoC. The 10.or G is one among the few smartphones to come powered by the Snapdragon 626 SoC in India.

The chipset is paired with Adreno 506 GPU for graphics and has 3GB/4GB of RAM. The 3GB of RAM variant comes with 32GB of internal storage, while the 4GB of RAM variant has 64GB of storage> The storage can be expanded up to 128GB with a microSD card. Sadly, it has a hybrid dual-SIM setup, and not a dedicated microSD card slot.

Another highlight in the 10.or G is the cameras at the back. The smartphone has two 13MP sensors at the rear, along with a capable 16MP selfie camera at the front. The two sensors at the back capture images with bokeh effect and the secondary 13MP sensor is a monochrome sensor for detailed black and white shots. Both the rear and front-facing cameras are paired with an LED flash.

The device also has a fingerprint sensor placed at the back, within reach of your index finger. The smartphone measures 8.5mm in thickness and weigh of 170grams. Connectivity options in the device include 4G LTE, VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, and micro USB port. This entire package is backed by a 4000mAh battery, and the company did not mention the support for fast charging. The device runs Android 7.1 Nougat with a guaranteed upgrade to Android Oreo.

The 10.or G will be available in two colour options- Beyond Black and Go Grey. The device is currently available for pre-registration and will be up for sale from September 29.

Commenting on the launch, Jeffrey Liu, Key Account Director, Huaqin Technology, said: "We are excited for the launch of the 10.or E and new 10.or G ahead of the festive season in India. The 10.or E and new 10.or G have been designed and developed specifically for India on the back of customer reviews on Amazon.in. 10.or smartphones will be supported by 4-way after sales customer service support via a dedicated 10.or Care app, toll-free number, email and walk-ins at offline service centres."
