Nokia today ushered in a new era in high-end Symbian smartphone imaging with the launch of Nokia 808 PureView 3G smartphone in India for Rs. 33899 that features a 41 Mega Pixel camera.
Nokia 808 PureView has 41MP camera sensor, 4-inch AMOLED CBD display with Gorilla Glass protection, 1.3GHz processor and has exclusive Carl Zeiss optics and Nokia developed algorithms, which will support new high-end imaging experiences. It also includes full HD 1080p video recording and playback with 4X lossless zoom and the world’s first use of Nokia Rich Recording whcih enables audio recording at CD-like levels of quality, previously only possible with external microphones.
The smartphone also comes with Dolby Digital Plus for 5.1 channel surround sound playback.
Nokia 808 is first smartphone to feature Nokia PureView imaging technologies, bringing together high resolution sensors, exclusive Carl Zeiss optics and Nokia developed algorithms, which will support new high-end imaging experiences for future Nokia products.
Since its global launch in February, the Nokia 808 PureView has received multiple awards, including Best Mobile Device at Mobile World Congress 2012, as well as an award for Best Imaging Innovation for 2012 from the Technical Image Press Association (TIPA).
The Nokia 808 PureView features a large, high-resolution 41 megapixel sensor with high-performance Carl Zeiss optics and new pixel oversampling technology. At standard resolutions (2/3, 5 and 8 megapixels) this means the ability to zoom without loss of clarity and capture seven pixels of information, condensing into one pixel for the sharpest images imaginable.
At high-resolution (38 megapixel maximum) it means the ability to capture an image, then zoom, reframe, crop and resize afterwards to expose previously unseen levels of details. With superior low-light performance and the ability to save in compact file sizes for sharing in email, MMS, and on social networks, the Nokia 808 PureView makes it possible for anyone to capture professional looking images in any conditions.
In addition to the revolutionary experience offered by the Nokia 808 PureView, a variety of imaging mobile applications are available on Nokia store (store.nokia.com) to enhance the overall user experience, including Vimeo and Pikchur.

Another ‘Waste’ from Nokia!!!!
Why do you wanna buy a 41MP camera phone when you can buy a good DSLR camera and Smartphone with that price!! And moreover now people are slowly realizing truth from the myth behind megapixel (i.e. More megapixel gives more clear &sharp photos!)

useless phone.
Who want 41mp cam.
symbian is a dying OS.
too costly…
Better go for a DSLR and a smartphone other than nokia..
Kiran. June 13, 2012 at 4:37 pm
Want pureview technology to be used in world’s best operating system aka Windows phone 7.5″.
Hope nokia will release it fast. Symbian is already dying faster than expected.
Ganesh Srinivasan June 13, 2012 at 4:16 pm
For a Symbian phone? Definitely no no
Anil June 13, 2012 at 3:57 pm
41mp!!!
That means each raw photo would take up at least 50MB of space on an sd card. Maybe more.
Kiran. June 13, 2012 at 3:50 pm
Best phone ever… It has 2 cores but one core is completely dedicated to camera n doesn interfere with phone operations. So can it be called as a dual core phone???
ssthanu June 13, 2012 at 3:17 pm
why should a user go for this mobile ? only for 41mp camera ? instead he can buy a standalone camera
Tremerin D'souza June 13, 2012 at 2:59 pm
Mind Blowing phone.
Rohan Singh June 13, 2012 at 2:41 pm
Better to go for a camera instead. Such a price for Symbian phone. Gr8 Nokia. I could have considered if it was windows phone.
Rajive Borde June 13, 2012 at 2:33 pm
The best camrea phone but the price should be around Rs.25k
Asit Paul June 13, 2012 at 1:43 pm
