Bharti Airtel, India’s leading GSM operator, has slashed ISD call charges by 18% for its mobile & landline customers across the country. ISD calls to select Gulf countries have been reduced from current Rs 8.50/min to Rs 6.99/min.
In order to avail the reduced rates, one needs to purchase a “VCC” (Virtual Calling Card). This can be obtained from any AIRTEL retailer across the countryby recharging with RS 55 / 110 / 225 / 550 / 2200 or 299. Once recharged, the customer would receive the VCC PIN on his phone via SMS.
Calls to the following countries would get the benefit:
Qatar, UAE, Oman, Kuwait, Yemen, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain.
The new rates are already effective from 23 June 2009.
Note: these new tariffs would only apply to the customers using the RS 299 (EASY CHARGE) and RS 199 (PAPER COUPON) denominations.

Airtel really fools people. It shows on its web site that isd apck of 110 can be purchased by flexi charge.I charged my mobile no 9634240463 with 110 and got 0 call value. Customer service centre reports that 110 rs is for call rate reduction for two months which i did not require. Why airtel keeps same packs rate for diffrent purpose in diffrent circles.why it does not specify about it in its web site. i strongly object to this cheating.

@Duane i don’t want to hurt you,according to me if u mention the market ISD charges in this post than it would be the best info news for any of the VCC card users.
Why airtel not providing the same tariff directly to its prepaid and postpaid mobile users without any VCC?
Duane June 26, 2009 at 11:42 am
@Deepak

Deepak,what is “not balanced” with this news?
It is a story about TARIF REDUCTION.
Mentions the rates before/after reduction & applicable countries.
Deepak June 26, 2009 at 10:53 am
@DUANE,I think Airtel is trying to fool the people,BSNL providing the ISD CALL to GULF (Qatar, UAE, Oman, Kuwait, Yemen, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain) at Just Rs.6 only from last several month, without any condition and it also provide the full talk value on its VCC card(calling card).
So AIRTEL is VERY VERY costly form BSNL VCC card in terms of call charges and Talk Value.
Request to you and entire the Telecom Talk team that please don’t work just in fever of Telecom Operator only,publish the balanced news with perfect informations in the mutual interest of operators and its users. Thank you
