Yu Yunique 2 Launched at Rs. 5,999 in India; Will it be a Contender to Xiaomi Redmi 4A?

Yu has added a new member, the Yu Yunique 2, to its growing smartphone portfolio. The company had been teasing the phone on social media for quite some time, and it has finally launched the Yunique 2 in India today.

The Yu Yunique 2 is a budget smartphone placed at a price point of Rs. 5,999. The handset will be available in two colour options of Champagne Gold and Coal Black and will go on sale exclusively on Flipkart, starting July 27, 2017, from 12 PM.

The Yu Yunique 2 sports a 5-inch display with HD (1280 x 720 pixels) resolution and a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 on top for screen protection. In terms of design, the device comes with a metal unibody with ribbed edges and minimal bezels on the side

Under the hood, the Yu Yunique 2 is powered by a quad-core MediaTek MT6737 chipset, clocked at 1.3GHz. The processor is coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. The handset also offers an option for storage expansion up to 128GB via a dedicated microSD card slot. The Yu Yunique 2 runs on Android Nougat 7.0 out of the box and comes with added features like support for 22 regional languages and 4G VoLTE compatibility. The phone’s connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and FM radio.

The smartphone comes with Truecaller as its native dialer app. In the photography segment, the Yu Yunique 2 sports a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP secondary camera on the front. The primary camera comes with autofocus, Multi Shot, Zoom level 4 and LED flash. The device is backed by a 2,500mAh battery that keeps the phone up and running for a whole day on normal usage.

The company recently launched its Yu Yureka Black handset in India at Rs. 8,999. To recall, the Yureka Black sports a 5-inch Full-HD display and runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box. The device is internally powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor shipped with 4GB of RAM. It houses a 13MP rear camera and an 8MP front-facing camera. The handset is backed by a 3,000mAh non-removable battery.
