The Yota Phone, which was launched in India through Flipkart for Rs. 23,499, has received a price cut of Rs. 3,372. The device is now available from Flipkart for Rs. 20,172. The Yota Phone features a primary 4.3-inch HD IPS LCD display, and a secondary 4.3-inch always-on 640 x 360 e-ink display.

The secondary e-ink display consumes very low energy and is perfectly visible even in bright sunlight. It can be used to view messages, read e-books, or display tickets at ticket counters.

It runs Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, a 1.7GHz dual-core Snapdragon 400 processor, 2GB RAM, 32GB internal storage, and an 1,800 mAh battery. It is equipped with a 13-megapixel primary camera with 1080p video recording and a 1-megapixel front-facing camera.

It appears that the company has not been able to attract Indian consumers with the device, mostly due to its high price for the features it provides. Also, the device comes with a dated version of Android.
