Sony rolls out Android 5.1 Lollipop update to Xperia M2 and Xperia M2 Aqua

Sony has initiated the roll out of Android 5.1 Lollipop to its Xperia M2 and Xperia M2 Aqua smartphones. It is a pretty big upgrade for both the devices as they received the Android 4.4 KitKat update in August with no update thereafter.

This is an OTA (over-the-air) update and will be rolled out in a phase-wise manner depending on the region and service provider. It was in the starting of this month when Sony rolled out Android 5.1 Lollipop update for Xperia Z series and Xperia T2 Ultra.

Here is the change-log for the Android 5.1 Lollipop:

  • Enhanced UI with Lollipop’s Material Design
  • More personalization options
  • LinkedIn integration — users can add LinkedIn information, schedules to Calendar
  • SmartWear Integration — SmartWatch 3 can be used as a remote shutter button

LOL. Android M (i.e 6) is going to be launched.
Even 5.1.1 has been delivered by low budget Android One phones.
