Xolo launches Omega 5 and Omega 5.5 for Rs 8,999 and Rs 9,999

Xolo has unveiled  two new phablets Omega 5 and Omega 5.5  at a price tag of Rs 8,999 and Rs 9,999 respectively. The two smartphone are a close take on the recently launched Xiaomi Redmi Note. The Omega 5 will be available from December 10 and Omega 5.5 will be available from December 20. Both the smartphones are powered by 1.4GHz MediaTek MT6592M octa-core processor and run on Android 4.4 KitKat with the company's proprietary HIVE UI on top.

However, Xolo has promised that it will soon be updating all the devices running on HIVE UI to Android 5.0 Lollipop. The Omega 5.0 and 5.5 are almost identical in terms of specifications, except for the display size, battery and the pricing. Xolo is showering various launch offers with Omega, it is giving  500MB of free data for Vodafone customers and unlimited music through Vodafone music for 2 months on purchase of Omega 5.0 and 1GB of free data for two months for Vodafone customers and unlimited music downloads through Vodafone Music for two months with Omega 5.5.

  • 1.4 GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6592M processor that is present in a slew of budget octa-core devices coupled with a Mali 450 GPU
  • 1GB RAM
  • 8GB of internal storage which is available for expansion by another 32GB
  • 13-Megapixel Exmor RS and 5P lens rear camera with a LED flash and a 2-Megapixel front camera
  • Yamaha amplifier with DTS support, 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and Dual SIM
  • 2600mAh battery
