Xiaomi might unveil Redmi Note 2 alongside MIUI 7 on August 13

Xiaomi has confirmed that it is going to unveil the latest version of its custom Android, dubbed as MIUI 7 on August 13 at an event in Beijing. Now another leak has surfaced online, which hints that Xiaomi might also announce Redmi Note 2 alongside MIUI 7 launch.

GizmoChina has leaked the screenshots from Xiaomi’s Mi store, which shows Redmi Note 2 32GB listed at 799 Yuan ( Approx. Rs 8,300) and going on pre-order from August 16. Going by the leak, we hope to see Redmi Note 2 32GB at the launch event on August 13.

In accordance with the previous leaks, the Redmi Note 2 will most likely come in two variants, with a display size of 5.5-inch and different chipsets — one variant will be powered by MediaTek MT6795 octa-core processor and the other by Snapdragon 615 processor. Both the variants will come with 2GB RAM, a 13-megapixel camera on the rear and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera, 16GB/32GB internal storage, and a 3,020mAh battery. The device will measure 152.05×76.2×8.05mm, which is slimmer than its predecessor.

Now coming on to the MIUI 7, there is not much information available, except that it is built on Android 5.1 Lollipop. Xiaomi’s current UI is MIUI 6, which runs its variety of devices such as the Mi 4, Mi 4i, Mi Note, Note Pro and many more.

I have always thought brand name is for name sake only. My first smart phone was micromax, followed by spice. When i used moto E, my opinion changed. I realized the difference. Then i went for xiaomi redmi 1s for its tempting specification vs price thing. It was a risk. Wonderful UI and features, but lot of technical issues and honestly all updates were pathetic.
