Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi has registered massive sales of 0.5 million smartphones in three days of festive season sales on Amazon, Snapdeal, and Flipkart, according to Economic Times.

Redmi Note 3

Commenting on the new milestone, Manu Jain, head of Xiaomi’s India operations said, “We’ve sold 0.5 million phones in less than 72 hours, in three days on Amazon and Snapdeal – and a day on Flipkart – which means 2 phones sold each second. Last year we sold more than 0.5 million units in 30 days during October.”

The company ran out of stock on two models -- Redmi 3S Prime and Redmi Note 3 on Flipkart on a day. In the backdrop of the devices’ popularity among the buyers, Xiaomi is planning to beef up the production of the models and ensure sufficient stocks both online and offline.

“We had started planning meticulously for Diwali sales six months in advance, and steadily increased production with Foxconn but this is a new benchmark for us… From what we know, no other brand has achieved this quality online or offline ever,” Jain added.

On three-day Amazon sale, the model that sold the highest was Redmi Note 3 along with two other phones. In the power bank system, Xiaomi’s 1000mAh power bank led the sale. On Flipkart, Redmi 3s and Redmi 3S Prime sold the highest, making Xiaomi the top brand on the platform. With the festive season registering high sales, the quarter ending in December would mark a high revenue for Xiaomi.

To recap, the Redmi 3S comes in magnesium alloy unibody metallic design and is backed by a 4,100mAh battery. It features a 5-inch HD IPS display with 1280 x 720 pixels resolution and is powered by a 64-bit Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 chipset with Adreno 505 GPU. The phone runs Android 5.0 Lollipop-based MIUI 7. In the imaging department, the device sports a 13-megapixel primary camera with PDAF, LED Flash, f/2.0 aperture, 1080p video recording clubbed with a 5-megapixel selfie camera with f/2.2 aperture, 1080p video recording. Regarding connectivity, the device supports Hybrid dual-SIM, 4G LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, and GPS + GLONASS.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3, on the other hand, comes with Snapdragon 650 chipset. It is available in two RAM and storage versions – 2GB RAM/16GB storage, and 3GB RAM/32GB storage. The device runs MIUI 7 based on Android Lollipop and supports dual 4G SIM cards (Micro + Nano). The handset packs a 4050mAh battery with fast charging support.
