Xiaomi will be launching the Redmi Y3 in India on April 24 as the Chinese company already scheduled its launch event. The launch is just a week away and Xiaomi' sub-brand Redmi is teasing the features of its upcoming handset on Twitter. For the last few days, Redmi is touting the battery life on its upcoming handset without revealing the actual capacity. However, it has now confirmed that the phone will sport a 4000mAh battery like the Redmi Note 7 and Note 7 Pro. Unlike its predecessors which arrived with a mediocre 3000mAh battery unit, the Redmi Y3 will have a bigger cell to take on the competition. Also, Amazon India has created a landing page confirming the Redmi Y3 will launch as an Amazon Exclusive and also revealed the phone would be powered Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. Furthermore, the Redmi Y3 will also have splash protection and industry-leading display.

Redmi Y3 Key Specifications Confirmed by Xiaomi

Yesterday, Xiaomi posted an image of the rear side of Redmi Y3 which confirmed the handset would have a gradient back like the Note 7 series. But it's unknown whether Xiaomi used a glass panel on the rear side or plastic like the Redmi 7 series. Another feature confirmed by Amazon India listing is the Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, but again, we don't have any info related to which chipset the company is going to use. It would most likely be the Snapdragon 632 SoC that's found the Redmi 7 and Asus Zenfone Max M2.

And today, Redmi India officially confirmed the Redmi Y3 would have a 4000mAh battery and the company says it will last more than a day on a single charge. Other confirmed features of the handset include splashproof protection, dual rear cameras and a 32MP selfie camera. The phone will have a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.

Redmi Y3 Will Be the Affordable 32MP Selfie Camera Phone

Xiaomi's Redmi Y series of the phones are aimed at selfie lovers, but with Redmi Y2, the company offered excellent dual rear cameras which stood ahead of the competition. While the same is expected to happen this year, the highlight feature of the handset will surely be the 32MP selfie camera. So far, we have 32MP selfie camera phones from the likes of Oppo and Vivo, but they're priced over Rs 20,000 in the sub-continent.

The Redmi Y3 will likely start at Rs 9,999 and it will surely be the cheapest phone with 32MP selfie shooter. As of now, we don't have the details related to the pricing and availability of the handset, but Xiaomi will announce these on April 24.

In other news, Xiaomi has started 2019 in a bang as the Redmi Note 7 and Note 7 Pro clocked one million sales in just 45 days of launch. The Redmi Note 7 Pro is probably the best phone under Rs 15,000 to purchase right now, while the Redmi Note 7 is the best under Rs 10,000.
