Xiaomi' selfie-centric smartphones, the Redmi Y1 (first impressions) and Redmi Y1 Lite will be up for sale today at 12 PM exclusively on Amazon India and Mi.com. The company will be selling both the models of Redmi Y1- 3GB/32GB model and 4GB/64GB model in today's sale. In the first sale, the Chinese company sold just a single 3GB/32GB storage model. As usual, the Redmi Y1 Lite will be available in a single variant.
The Redmi Y1 with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage costs Rs. 8,999, and the premium 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage variant is priced at Rs. 10,999. The phones will be available in a single Gold colour option. The Redmi Y1 Lite is priced at Rs. 6,999 in the country.
Xiaomi, in the first flash sale, has sold over 1,50,000 units of the Redmi Y1 and Y1 Lite. Do make a note that today's sale is also a flash sale, meaning they will be out of stock within seconds from the sale commencement.
Xiaomi Redmi Y1 and Y1 Lite Specifications
The Xiaomi Redmi Y1 is the company's first attempt at taking on selfie-centric smartphones such as Oppo F3, Oppo F5, Asus Zenfone 4 Selfie, etc. The Redmi Y1 is the best selfie smartphone under Rs. 10,000. The device offers a 5.5-inch HD display, Snapdragon 435 SoC, 3GB.4GB of RAM, 32GB/64GB of internal storage, dedicated microSD card slot for storage expansion. The highlight of the Redmi Y1 is the 16MP selfie camera on the front, and a 13MP adores the back. The device boots Android Nougat based on MIUI 9 and is backed by a 3080mAh battery.
The Redmi Y1 Lite, on the other hand, comes with a 5.5-inch HD display, but the processor is a slightly downgraded one- Snapdragon 425. The Y1 Lite is available in a single 2GB RAM and 16GB storage model, and like the Redmi Y1, it also comes with a dedicated microSD card slot. The phone has a 5MP selfie camera and 13MP rear camera. This phone also boots MIUI 9 based on Android Nougat and has a 3080mAh battery underneath.

So, there are a couple of sale offers on the Redmi Y1 and Y1 Lite smartphones. Idea Cellular is offering additional 280GB data for the purchasers of the Redmi Y1 and Y1 Lite. Customers whoever recharges with the Rs. 357 plan on Idea Cellular will get additional 1GB data per day for 28 days. The Rs. 357 plan of Idea usually gives 1.5GB data per day, unlimited voice calls. That said, the Redmi Y1 and Y1 Lite users will get 2.5GB data per, and a customer can avail this offer for 10 times.
