Xiaomi recently announced that the Mi 5 and Redmi Note 3 would no longer receive MIUI updates in the future. MIUI 10 was the last update that both these phones received. Xiaomi also recently upgraded number of its Redmi and Mi phones to the latest MIUI 10, including the Poco F1. The company is seemingly finally pushing out MIUI 10.2.1 update to one of the most popular Xiaomi phones last year, the Redmi Note 5 Pro. According to a report coming from TheAndroidSoul, the Redmi Note 5 Pro users in India have started getting the MIUI 10.2.1 update. Xiaomi hasn’t yet officially announced the official rollout of the software and we didn’t receive the software update on our unit as well. The report suggests that the new MIUI update brings several features like home screen shortcut and more. The update also brings along bug fixes for some issues and improvements here and there.

MIUI 10.2.1 Update to Redmi Note 5 Pro: What’s New?
The MIUI 10.2.1 update is rolling out to users in India, the report suggests. However, the rollout is seemingly happening on a phased manner, which means, that if you’re a Redmi Note 5 Pro user and haven’t got the update, hold on as it might soon hit your phone. Notably, the update brings several features, improvements and bug fixes to the Redmi phone.
The MIUI 10.2.1 fixes the accidental camera burst capture problem that several Redmi Note 5 Pro users have been reporting about off late. Users have been reportedly facing this issue in the default camera app of the Redmi Note 5 Pro. The update is also fixing thumbnail and icons that were displayed on Files Explorer while using the search. As for the new features that the update is bringing to the Redmi Note 5 Pro are – home shortcut for Updater app.
