Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 and Mi 5 to go on open sale in India from today

Xiaomi’s two flagship smartphones launched in March – Mi 5 smartphone and Redmi Note 3 will go on sale in India through open sale starting from 10AM, today. To simplify, it means that there is no need of prior registration required to grab the phones. Company made the announcement on Twitter about the open sale.

The customers can visit Mi India website to grab Mi 5 smartphone. Besides from Mi India website, the variants of Redmi Note 3 will go on sale on three e-commerce platforms – Amazon, Flipkart, and Snapdeal simultaneously. To recap on the specifications, the Mi 5 smartphone features a 5.15-inch full-HD (1080x1920 pixels) with curved 3D Ceramic glass. It runs on Android Lollipop with MIUI 7 on top. The dual-SIM smartphone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, paired with 3GB RAM and Adreno 530 GPU.

For optics, there is a 16 MP rear camera with Sony IMX298 sensor, PDAF (phase detection autofocus), OIS, sapphire glass protection, 4K video support, and LED flash. It also integrates a 4MP selfie camera, with f/2.0 aperture in it. The built-in storage capacity is 32GB, and the Mi 5 packs a 3000mAh battery that supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0. It comes with a price tag of Rs. 24,999.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3, on the other hand, comes with Snapdragon 650 variant. The Redmi Note 3 is available in two RAM and storage versions - one including 2GB of RAM and 16GB of inbuilt storage, and other 3GB of RAM and 32GB of inbuilt storage. The Redmi Note 3 runs MIUI 7 based on Android Lollipop and supports dual 4G SIM cards (Micro + Nano). The handset packs a 4050mAh battery with fast charging support. On the camera front, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 sports a 16MP rear camera with phase detection autofocus (PDAF) and two-tone flash. It also houses a 5MP front camera. The 2GB variant is priced at Rs. 9,999, while the 3GB variant is priced at Rs. 11,999.

It's worth mentioning that both the devices went on open sale in India last month, but went out of stock within a couple of minutes.
