Xiaomi Redmi 5A: Road to Success in India

Xiaomi is always known for launching smartphones with aggressive prices in India. But with the Redmi 5A, it took the pricing to another level. The Chinese company announced the phone in two variants with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, and the other one with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The price of the base variant was Rs 4,999 until five million units, while the premium variant sold for Rs 6,999. Once Xiaomi sold five million units, the price of the base variant got hiked to Rs 5,999, but still, the increase in price didn't hurt the sales though.

The Redmi 5A is aimed at first-time smartphone buyers and rightly so. It offers decent performance at a price of Rs 5,999, thanks to the hardware it has. Now, the Redmi 6A is here to replace the Redmi 5A.

Marking this occasion, Raghu Reddy, Head of Categories and Online Sales shared, “These remarkable milestones are the result of the immense love and admiration from our millions of Mi Fans and customers. Redmi 5A is one of our blockbuster smartphone products due to the amazing features it offers coupled with great quality and truly honest pricing, which makes it an undebatable choice in its category and with the recently launched Redmi 6A we have made it even better. Xiaomi as a brand will continue to bring innovative products of great quality with best specs and ensure that it is accessible to all consumers across India.”
