Xiaomi is on a roll, at least as far as pushing out the software updates are concerned. Earlier today we had reported about Poco F1 getting MIUI 10.1 based Android 9 update. Now users on MIUI Forums reveal that Xiaomi is pushing MIUI 10 Global Beta update to Redmi 5. The update brings a lot of features to the Redmi 5 including Dual 4G VoLTE support. To recall, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer rolled out the MIUI 10 Stable OTA update to Redmi 5 in November which brought a range of new features to the phone including the full-screen gestures, redesigned notification panel and volume sliders, improved multitasking management, and natural sound system. Additionally, the update also brought a lot of other MIUI 10 features like gestures navigation, new recent menu, Android P-like volume slider, PiP mode, and lots of AI.

Xiaomi is now pushing out a new Global Beta update to the Redmi 5 and brings support for Dual 4G VoLTE. This comes as a good news to a lot of users as the feature will finally let them make 4G calls simultaneously. With the new update, the Redmi 5 becomes one of the most affordable phones to come with Dual 4G VoLTE support.
MIUI 10 Global Beta Update Brings New Features
The key highlight of the new update is the support for Dual 4G VoLTE. According to the changelog, the new update comes with the build number 8.1.0 OPM1.171019.026. The new update also comes paired with the Android security patch for the month of November. As of now, Xiaomi is yet to reveal about the stable update rollout timeline, but considering Xiaomi’s track record, we can expect the stable Android Oreo update with Dual 4G VoLTE to roll out very soon to the Redmi 5 users.
