Xiaomi Redmi 2 price slashed to Rs 5,999 permanently

It was only yesterday that Xiaomi teased Redmi 2’s price drop and it has announced the same officially now. The price of the Redmi 2 has been dropped from Rs 6,999 to Rs 5,999 permanently and the same will come into effect immediately across all retail forms the smartphone is available from. The device is available through Mi.com/in, Flipkart, Amazon, Snapdeal, The Mobile Store and Airtel stores.

The Redmi 2 has been facing the heat for a while as the competition caught up to it soon after its launch with better specifications at the same price. The price drop is expected to bring the smartphone into the consideration set of the customers looking for a good sub Rs 6,000 device.

both sim cards support 4G ?? or only one supports 4G/3G/2G and second one supports ONLY 2G???

No, sims are 4G+2G, have a redmi 2 in my family, only first sim is 4G/3G, second sim is 2G only, like rest of the lot of budget handsets. Its just a fooling marketing jargon “4G Dual SIM” that gives an impression that both sims are 4G capable but are not. When I bought it I thought the same.
