A few days ago, it was rumoured that Xiaomi is working on a new variant of the Redmi Note 8 Pro with Snapdragon 730G chipset on board. However, Xiaomi has officially denied the existence of any such variant. Redmi General Manager Lu Weibing has confirmed that there's no variant of Redmi Note 8 Pro with the popular mid-range chipset from Qualcomm in the works right now. Before Lu Weibing, Xiaomi India Marketing Head, Anuj Sharma also denied the existence of another Redmi Note 8 Pro variant. For the unaware, the Redmi Note 8 Pro with MediaTek Helio G90T chipset was launched a few weeks ago. Even before the launch of the MediaTek variant, it was in the rumours that Xiaomi would bring a Snapdragon variant of the Redmi Note 8 Pro to provide additional choice to the users.

Redmi Note 8 Pro With Snapdragon 730G SoC Will Never Launch

Xiaomi's Redmi Note series is the best-selling series for the company- not only in India but also in China. Xiaomi's decision to choose MediaTek Helio G90T chipset for the Redmi Note 8 Pro surprised many as the previous Redmi Note phones always arrived with Snapdragon chipsets. However, the Helio G90T chipset was co-developed by Xiaomi and MediaTek; Even after six months of Helio G90T launch, the Redmi Note 8 Pro is still the only phone with the gaming-focused chip from MediaTek.

While the Redmi Note 8 Pro with MediaTek chip is already doing great in both China and India, Xiaomi was rumoured to be working on a new variant of the same phone with Snapdragon 730G SoC. Apparently, a tipster claimed that two new model numbers of unknown Xiaomi phones- M1912G7BE and M1912G7BC were said to be the Snapdragon 730G variant of the Note 8 Pro itself.

It turns out to be there's no variant of the Redmi Note 8 Pro with Snapdragon 730G chipset which may disappoint some out there. With the Snapdragon 730G variant, the Redmi Note 8 Pro would've competed with the Realme X2 smartphone which is already available in China.
