Xiaomi Brings MIUI 10 Global Stable Update to Redmi 3S and Redmi 4 Users

Xiaomi has pushed out MIUI 10 update to several of its Redmi and Mi phones recently. Adding to the list, Xiaomi has announced that the company is rolling out the MIUI 10 update to two of its old Redmi phones including – Redmi 3S and Redmi 4. With the coming of MIUI 10 update, the Redmi 3S and Redmi 4 will get upgraded with some of the features that the UI comes packed with. Xiaomi is rolling out the Global stable build of the MIUI 10 to both the Redmi phones right now. It is important to note that the rollout could be happening in a phased manner, which means if you still haven’t received the update, you might need to wait for some more time. It is also important to ensure that before downloading and installing the update, you should fully charge the phone and connect the device to a Wi-Fi network. You should also back up all your data before installing the update.

Redmi 3S and Redmi 4 MIUI 10 Update: Changelog Detailed

The changelog reveals that the new software update brings a range of new features to the Redmi 3S and Redmi 4. With the update, the system stability of the two Redmi phones will be improved as well. Also, considering these two Redmi phones are pretty old, the new software update is based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow, which is underwhelming, but Xiaomi is known for this for a long time.

With the coming of MIUI 10, some features of the UI are expected to come to the two Redmi phones. MIUI 10 comes with a range of features like -- gestures navigation, new recent menu, Android P-like volume slider, PiP mode, and lots of AI. Considering these two Redmi phones are pretty old we aren’t sure if they are eligible to get gestures and AI-based features.

Xiaomi Redmi 5 Updated to MIUI 10.1 Global Beta

Earlier this week, the Redmi 5 received MIUI 10.1 Global Beta update which brought support for Dual 4G VoLTE. This means that after updating the phone to the latest software, the Redmi 5 users will be able to make 4G calls from both SIMs unlike the scenario before. According to the changelog, the MIUI 10.1 beta update for Redmi 5 comes with the build number 8.1.0 OPM1.171019.026 and is paired with November’s Android security patch. Currently, there’s no new information on when Xiaomi will push out the stable build update of the software to the Redmi 5 users.

Previously, about a month ago Xiaomi rolled out the MIUI 10 Stable OTA update to Redmi 5 which brought features like full-screen gestures, redesigned notification panel and volume sliders, improved multitasking management, and natural sound system to the phone. In addition, the Xiaomi Mi A1 also received Dual 4G feature with Android 9 Pie update.
