Xiaomi Ends MIUI Development for Mi Max and Mi Max Prime Smartphones

Xiaomi halted MIUI updates for some of its old phones last months. The Mi Max and Mi Max Prime get added to the list now. The company has confirmed that the last MIUI update for the Mi Max and Mi Max Prime will be MIUI 10.3. Some time ago Xiaomi stopped the MIUI update for the Mi Note 3 and Mi 5. Xiaomi launched the Mi Max back in the month of May 2016 which featured a massive 6.44-inch display and is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 processor which was one of the most powerful processors three years back. The Mi Max Prime, on the other hand, was powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor. Both the Mi Max and Mi Max Prime were one of the most wanted phones of their times. But now with the coming of new phones like the Redmi Note 7 and Redmi Note 7 Pro the company has decided to stop MIUI software update for the old phones.




No More MIUI Updates for Mi Max and Mi Max Prime

The Mi Max and the Mi Max Prime will no longer get MIUI updates in the future. The last software update for these two phones will be MIUI 10.3. Xiaomi has officially announced that the Mi Max and Mi Max Prime have both received their last MIUI 10 Beta update. The last MIUI Beta update comes with the release of version 9.2.28. The company has confirmed that these two phones Mi Max and Mi Max Prime will no longer get MIUI Beta updates as well. The MIUI 10.3 stable update is expected to reach the two Xiaomi phones in April 2019. In the announcement post, Xiaomi has mentioned that the Mi Max and Mi Max Prime users can either remain on beta or can very well migrate back to the stable version of the final software updated.

Xiaomi Redmi 7 in the Works

Meanwhile some rumours suggest that Xiaomi is working to very soon release MIUI 11. The latest version of MIUI is MIUI 10 that's running on most of the new phones. Lastly, Xiaomi has update several Xioami phones both old and new to the latest MIUI 10 version. The newly launched Redmi Note 7 and the Redmi Note 7 Pro run Android 9 Pie based on MUI 10.

Xiaomi is all set to launch the Redmi Note 7 Pro in China on March 18. The company launched the Redmi Note 7 and the Redmi Note 7 Pro in India last week. Some reports further suggest that Xiaomi could be working on Redmi 7 to launch the phone very soon. The Redmi 7 will succeed the last year's Redmi 6.
