Xiaomi recently launched the Xiaomi Mi A1 Special Edition Red colour variant in Indonesia. Back then, we expected Xiaomi to launch it in India as well. But what we did not expect is the company to launch it this soon in India. Xiaomi India just now announced the Mi A1 Special Edition Red at the same price of Rs 13,999 as its other colour variants.

Being a limited edition model, Xiaomi will be selling the device in limited numbers. The Mi A1 Special Edition Red comes in an attractive, vibrant shade of red to appeal the customers. Xiaomi says that this device is perfect for customers who want a smartphone that stands out from the crowd.

With the launch of the Mi A1 Special Edition Red, the company is offering the device in four colour options in India. Xiaomi is currently selling the phone in matte black, gold, and rose gold. And the best part is the price of the device. Good job from Xiaomi to price the new colour option at the same price as other variants.

The all-new Red colour variant of the Mi A1 will be sold in limited quantities from December 20, 2017, via Mi.com and Flipkart. It will also be made available at all the Mi Home stores, Mi Preferred Partner stores, and all retail partner stores. Xiaomi did not reveal how many units it's looking to sell in the country.

Xiaomi Mi A1 Special Edition Red Specifications and Features
The Special Edition Red variant of the Mi A1 comes with same specifications as the other three colour variants. The Mi A1 flaunts a 5.5-inch 1080p display with Corning Gorilla Glass protection on top. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset, clubbed with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. A hybrid microSD card is present on the phone to expand the storage.

The highlight of the Mi A1 is the dual camera setup present at the back. There are two 12MP sensors at the back of the phone with a primary RGB sensor and a secondary telephoto lens. The phone also comes with a Portrait mode, which is one of the best in the price range. A 5MP is present at the bottom of the phone.

The device boots Android 7.1 Nougat out of the box with Android 8.0 Oreo right around the corner. This entire package is backed by a 3080mAh battery.
