Xiaomi's Android One smartphone, the Mi A1 became the only smartphone under Rs 15,000 to offer the latest Android 8.0 Oreo. However, the company has now temporarily suspended the rollout of the update as a few of updated users have reported numerous bugs such as dialer app issues, battery drain while Bluetooth is turned on, and more. One of the Xiaomi officials confirmed to us that the first phase of the rollout was completed and the company will be starting the second phase of rollout very soon.

Xiaomi Mi A1 Android 8.0 Oreo Beta

Xiaomi is known for acknowledging bugs when it comes to software as the company has officially posted temporary solutions for a couple of bugs which users are facing after updating to Android Oreo. Xiaomi rolled out the Android 8.0 Oreo update to the Mi A1 on December 31, saying that the update will reach a few users in the first phase.

However, if you want to install the update right now without waiting for Xiaomi to begin the second phase of the rollout, you can head to Mi Community and download the Fastboot ROM to update the device manually. I have done the same and guess what, I haven't faced a single issue as of now. But that doesn't mean that other users are not facing the issues.

Talking about the issues faced by some of the users after updating the Mi A1 to Oreo, the first one is the unresponsiveness of camera app, battery drain on Bluetooth, dialer app crashes, fingerprint gestures not working, and issues with recent apps menu.

For the users who are still waiting for the update, they can only install it via the fastboot method. We will keep you posted once Xiaomi starts the second
