Xiaomi May Launch the Mi Mix 2S With Snapdragon 845 SoC at MWC 2018 and Not the Mi 7

Xiaomi is reportedly working on a new flagship smartphone other than the rumoured Xiaomi Mi 7. The smartphone we’re speaking about is the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S. A new report coming in from China cites that Xiaomi is readying the Mi Mix 2S and it may be unveiled at the mega tech show- MWC 2018 next month. The report also highlighted that Xiaomi is yet to finalise the design of the Mi 7 flagship device, which may be the reason for the existence of the Mi Mix 2S.

Well, this is not the first time we’re speaking about the Mi Mix 2S. A couple of months back, Xiaomi was said to be working on a smaller version of the Mi Mix 2 with a notch on the top. Yes, you heard it right. The Mi Mix 2S, if the report is to be believed to be true will feature a notch at the top, same as the Apple iPhone X.

At the launch event of the Mi Mix 2 in India, Jai Mani, Xiaomi Product Lead said that the company explored the option of adding a notch on the top, but they again decided to go against it as it will take a lot of time for users to get used. But it now looks like the Mi Mix 2S with a notch is under the works.

We also reported an image leak of the Mi Mix 2S, which showed a notch on the top. The notch looks precisely similar to the one present on the iPhone X, and it houses the front-facing camera & sensors. Also, the display aspect ratio is expected to be 19:5:9 and not the traditional 18:9 aspect ratio. However, there’s no info on the display size though.
