Airtel has launched its 4G services in Baharampur of West Bengal yesterday. The network expansion in rest of West Bengal counts Baharampur as second city to get Airtel 4G after Kharagpur.
It should be noted that Airtel launched country's first 4G network in Kolkata in April 2012 and then in August 2016 Airtel started expanding 4G network in the West Bengal circle as part of the company's Project Leap - the initiative for national network transformation.
Airtel 4G in Baharampur will have dual LTE network - TD LTE over 2300MHz and FDD LTE over 1800MHz which will provide the users better coverage as well as more bandwidth i.e. a superior mobile broadband experience.
Commenting on the launch, Ravindra Singh Negi, CEO – West Bengal & Odisha, Bharti Airtel Limited said,“We are delighted to roll out our 4G services in Baharampur, this is yet another milestone for Airtel in Bengal with Baharampur becoming the third town after Kolkata and Kharagpur to experience Airtel 4G. Customers in Baharampur can now look forward to a superlative smartphone experience with Airtel 4G. We invite all data savvy customers to upgrade to Airtel 4G and be a part of India’s widest 4G network.”
The tariffs of Airtel 4G will be same as 3G.
