Dish TV today announced that it’s bringing the Watcho OTT app to Amazon Fire TV Stick. With Watcho app, users of Amazon Fire TV Stick can now watch Live TV content as well. Watcho app by Dish TV is an OTT application with over 100 Live TV channels, original web shows, short films and other regional shows & movies. Bringing this app to Amazon Fire Stick is an interesting move from the company, but this move could be part of the DTH operator’s already announced partnership with Amazon. A few weeks ago, Dish TV also launched Dish SMRT Hub Android TV-based Set-Top Box in India and it comes pre-loaded with Amazon Prime Video application. Although Android TV has support for Amazon Prime Video, most of the STBs do not come pre-installed with the app.

Amazon Fire TV Stick Users Can Now Watch Live TV Channels
Watcho is not the popular OTT app in the industry, but it’s growing at a rapid pace. Unlike the OTT apps from Bharti Airtel or Tata Sky, Watcho offers a large Video-on-Demand content library of originals, movies and popular shows along with the standard Live TV service. Right now, Watcho has over 100 Live TV channels and Dish TV users with an Amazon Fire TV Stick can view these channels for free. That said, Watcho service is also available at no extra cost for D2h users as well. Notably, the Dish SMRT Hub also comes pre-installed with the Watcho app.
Furthermore, Watcho is also the first OTT service to feature user-generated content allowing users to create and upload their own content on the platform. The flexible service was designed to address the large base of over 23 million subscribers of Dish TV and D2h and is also open to new users, says Dish TV.
