Telecom service provider Vodafone is planning to raise its number of staff by 200 to 15,000 employees over the next two years.
“The planned capacity expansions and investments in the high-end technology centre and the customer service centres will create opportunities for employment and for skilling and training India’s rich talent pool,” the company said in a statement.
Vodafone, which has over 188 million subscribers in India, has announced plans to invest about Rs 13,000 crore in India for capacity augmentation and new business initiatives. In a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Vodafone Group CEO Vittorio Colao, reiterated its commitment to support government’s Digital India and Make in India initiatives.
Talking about some of its HR initiatives, the company today has a talent management process in place, which works on talent assessment and development. It also holds career chats with talent pool through its 'Know your Talent' (KYT) series. The interactions help the leadership team to get in touch with the identified talent, understand their aspirations and commitment to build initiatives and career moves.
The company also runs leadership development programs for talent pool at two levels - top 120 people level, and the next 550 people level. Such programs help in building both functional and leadership expertise for the top 20% of these groups.
