Vodafone Prepaid Plans Now Offering 1.5GB Daily Data Benefit, Competition With Reliance Jio Tightens

Follow Us

Vodafone has expanded its prepaid tariff portfolio with three new plans offering 1.5GB data per day. With these new plans, Vodafone now has a wide range of prepaid plans providing 1.4GB, 1.5GB, 2GB and 3GB daily data benefit. The three new plans in question are Rs 209, Rs 479 and Rs 529, which provide 1.5GB data per day. Vodafone is already offering 1.4GB daily data plans of Rs 199, Rs 448 and Rs 509. So the only change between the 1.4GB daily data and 1.5GB daily data plans is the extra 100MB data benefit on the newly introduced ones. Vodafone has introduced these plans in only select circles at the moment, but it's expected to launch them on a pan-India basis very soon or at least in the company's 4G circles. The UK-based telco goes neck-on-neck with Reliance Jio which already has 1.5GB daily data plans under its portfolio.

Vodafone Prepaid Plans With 1.5GB Daily Data Benefit

Aforesaid, Vodafone has come up with three new plans offering 1.5GB data benefit per day. The Rs 209 plan offers data benefit for 28 days, followed by the Rs 479 plan for 84 days and the Rs 529 plan for 90 days. All the three plans offer a user 1.5GB data every day, meaning the overall data benefit of the Rs 209 plan becomes 42GB. The Rs 479 plan's overall data benefit comes to 126GB, and lastly, the Rs 529 plan gives a total data benefit of 135GB.

Vodafone Also Offers Unlimited Voice Calling and 100 SMS Everyday

Alongside the 1.5GB daily data benefit, these plans also provide a user unlimited voice calls, capped at 250 minutes per day and 1000 minutes per week. Also, Vodafone allows a user to make voice calls to just 100 unique numbers during the entire validity period. Lastly, the plans also come with 100 SMS per day benefit.

Vodafone Play Subscription is an Added Bonus

These days, telecom operators are looking to lure users by providing various OTT content benefits. Vodafone has its own content application, dubbed as Vodafone Play which allows a user to watch more than 300 Live TV channels and content from various providers such as Eros Now, HOOQ and more. All the three plans gives a user premium access to Vodafone Play.

Competition With Reliance Jio Tightens

When Reliance Jio introduced the 1.5GB daily data plans earlier this year, incumbent operators launched prepaid plans with 1.4GB data per day benefit. But Reliance Jio kept on offering four prepaid plans with 1.5GB daily data, and they're Rs 149, Rs 349, Rs 399 and Rs 449.

The Rs 149 plan is the cheapest one on the list as it gives benefits of 1.5GB 4G data every day, unlimited voice calling without any FUP limit and 100 SMS per day for 28 days. On the other hand, the Rs 349 plan offers the same benefits for 70 days, followed by the Rs 399 plan with 84 days validity. Finally, we have the Rs 449 plan giving the same benefits to the users for 91 days.

Airtel, Idea Cellular Are Yet to Introduce These 1.5GB Daily Data Plans

As of now, only Vodafone India has introduced these plans to take on Reliance Jio, but we're expecting that both the leading telcos- Bharti Airtel and Idea Cellular will also come up with similarly priced prepaid plans with 1.5GB daily data benefit very soon.
