As part of this initiative, on the purchase of the Nokia N97, Vodafone Customer will receive an exclusive Free Data Plan over three months for browsing Internet services 24x7. This will provide users with greater freedom to connect, create, discover and share highly personalized media and applications on Vodafone's 2.75G EDGE networks.

Nokia India and Vodafone Essar have partnered to enable consumers to be connected on the go, easily, anytime and from everywhere.

The two companies will offer users a personalized Internet experience with the Nokia N97. The companies said their offer takes into account the increased need of users for a more seamless experience of the Internet with slick interface, good speeds and access to an unlimited world of information, while being on the move.

The offer will be valid for Vodafone users at all Vodafone Stores retailing Nokia devices, all Nokia Branded Retail outlets as well as Multi Brand Outlets across nine cities - Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Pune, Ahmedabad and Jaipur.

Designed for the needs of Internet savvy consumers, the Nokia N97 will transform the way people connect to the Internet and to each other. It pioneers the concept of a personalized home screen that lets people choose their favorite content, providing an 'always open' window to applications and/or Internet content such as social networking sites, RSS feeds and other widgets in addition to Ovi feeds. Expected to start shipping in India by next week, the Nokia N97 will be the first Nokia device to offer integrated access to the newly opened Ovi Store.

Vodafone N97 owners will also get exclusive access to 'The Groove', a unique lifestyle widget. 'The Groove' will provide users live updates on movies, dining out, shopping, clubbing, cultural events as well as sports. Nokia N97 owners can now therefore access live information on their favorite topics through a single touch on their home screens, in addition to sharing them with their friends and family.

Harit Nagpal, Director-Marketing and New Business, Vodafone Essar, said, "We are delighted to offer our customers even more choice with Nokia N97. We understand that a device like the Nokia N97 will enable greater Internet connectivity, and hence we are coming up with special data plans to make accessing information on the net easier."

"The Internet is now an everyday part of people's lives, something they can't live without and devices such as the Nokia N97 give them greater freedom to be always switched on. It is on their terms what they download, browse or upload to the web when and how they want. Moreover, they want easy, one touch access to information that is personally relevant. We, at Nokia, are committed to providing mobile phone users in India an enhanced mobile experience, leveraging the strength of our operator partners. With this initiative, we hope to take a step further towards our vision of delivering a highly personalized Internet experience to our customers," said V. Ramnath, Director - Operator Channels, Nokia India.
