Vodafone India Launches 4G VoLTE Services in UP West

Vodafone India today rolled out its Super VoLTE services in several cities of Uttar Pradesh West circle, and the key cities are Meerut, Agra, Dehradun, Bareilly, Saharanpur, Aligarh, Haldwani & Moradabad. With this launch, Vodafone is the first GSM service provider in the circle to offer VoLTE services, ahead of Bharti Airtel and Idea Cellular. Airtel is expected to roll out VoLTE services in the circle very soon. Vodafone Super VoLTE allows the customers to enjoy voice calls in HD quality along with much faster call connect time. All the Vodafone 4G customers with a Vodafone 4G smartphone can access VoLTE for no additional charges, and all calls will be billed as per existing plan or pack benefits.

As per Vodafone's website, the VoLTE service in UP West is currently available in Agra, Aligarh, Bareilly, Bijnor, Budaun, Bulandshahar, Dehradun, Etawah, Firozabad, Roorkee, Hardwar, Haldwani, Mainpuri, Mathura, Meerut, Moradabad, Muzaffarnagar, Rudrapur, Rampur and Saharanpur cities. Vodafone also promised that it will be extending the VoLTE coverage to other cities very soon and for now, users in the above said cities would be able to enjoy VoLTE service.

Vodafone is actively expanding VoLTE coverage in the country as the telco now has VoLTE services in seven circles- Mumbai, Delhi-NCR, Rajasthan, Gujarat and Maharastra & Goa, Haryana, Tamil Nadu, UP West and will be extended across the country in a phased manner over the next few months.

Recently, we reported that Vodafone had added its VoLTE service to a few more smartphones such as the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4, Nokia 6 and the Gionee M7 Power. With this expansion, Vodafone now has 20 supported Vodafone VoLTE smartphones in the market, and the list will only get better over the time. Airtel has over 100 VoLTE supported smartphones under its belt at the moment, while every smartphone releasing these days is coming with Jio VoLTE support. Vodafone should fasten the device support cycle to catch up with Airtel.
