Vodafone Idea (Vi) on Friday, January 9, 2026, informed stock exchanges that it has received a communication from the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) granting relief in the long-pending Adjusted Gross Revenue (AGR) matter.

AGR dues frozen
In a regulatory filing under SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015, the company said that its AGR dues — including principal, interest, penalty and interest on penalty — for the period from FY2006-07 to FY2018-19 have been frozen as of December 31, 2025.

Phased repayment plan up to 2041
As per the DoT communication, Vodafone Idea will pay a maximum of Rs 124 crore annually over six years from March 2026 to March 2031. This will be followed by annual payments of Rs 100 crore for four years from March 2032 to March 2035. The remaining AGR dues will be paid in equal annual instalments over six years between March 2036 and March 2041.

DoT committee to reassess AGR dues
The company also disclosed that the DoT will constitute a committee to reassess the AGR dues, and the committee’s decision will be final. Any reassessed amount will be repaid in equal annual instalments during the period from March 2036 to March 2041.
Vodafone Idea said the disclosure follows its earlier communication dated December 31, 2025, and has been made for information and dissemination to stakeholders.
