Vodafone Idea Enhances Network Infrastructure in Karnataka for Improved Data Speeds

Vodafone Idea Enhances Network Infrastructure Across Karnataka for Improved Data Speeds
Vodafone Idea (Vi) today announced advancements in its network infrastructure across Bengaluru, Mysuru, and Tumakuru in Karnataka to provide faster data speeds for users. The company has doubled the capacity of its LTE 2100 MHz band from 5 MHz to 10 MHz, enhancing data speeds and improving the internet experience, Vi said.

Deployment of 900 MHz Spectrum

Additionally, Vi plans to further strengthen its network by deploying recently acquired spectrum in the 900 MHz band across the state. This deployment will enhance indoor coverage, particularly in densely populated suburban and rural areas.

Vi also announced the establishment of a new service zone in Davanagere to broaden its distribution and service reach within the state. The company said these efforts are part of its commitment to providing superior connectivity and an enhanced customer experience across Karnataka.

Vodafone Idea 5G Readiness

Vi noted that its network currently covers around 85 percent of the population in Karnataka and that it has upgraded its core network in the circle over the past two years to ensure 5G readiness, including services such as e-sSIM, VoWi-Fi, and Vo-LTE.

The company also highlighted its expanded retail presence in the state, with over 140 stores, including Vi Stores, Vi Shops, and Vi Mini Stores, and approximately 360 distributors and close to 19,000 recharge outlets to ensure greater service and support for customers.

Speaking on these developments at the event, Abhijit Kishore, Chief Operating Officer of Vi, said: "Our objective is to deliver the best network experience to our customers by expanding 4G coverage and enhancing data speed. As customers demand better choices, we have built a digital ecosystem with our partners to offer a differentiated experience. The Vi App serves as a multi-utility platform, offering games, entertainment, cloud gaming, utility bill payments, and more."

Customer-Centric Plans

In addition to infrastructure improvements, Vi said it continues to innovate with customer-centric plans like the Vi Hero Unlimited Plan and a customisable postpaid option, ensuring tailored benefits for its users.
