Vodafone Idea (Vi) has brought a very unusual offer for customers. The telco has added two new data-only vouchers for customers with active base prepaid plans. These plans cost Rs 24 and Rs 49. If you are wondering what’s cool about them, well, give me a minute to explain. The telco has been battling concerns of low average revenue per user (ARPU) for several years now. Despite providing prepaid plans and postpaid plans at prices similar to Bharti Airtel, Vi’s business has not taken off in terms of revenue and ARPU. But these two plans that the telco has announced can change that or can at least contribute to changing that.

Let’s wait no more and jump onto these brilliant plans.

Vodafone Idea Rs 24 Plan - Super Hour

Vodafone Idea’s Rs 24 plan has been dubbed Super Hour by the company. This is because it comes with a validity of just 1 hour. You heard it right, just "1 HOUR." Well, that’s new. But for that one hour, you can use as much data as possible.

I think it is a brilliant idea, but does it make a lot of sense with 4G and poor network coverage? Not really. So only people who feel like they get the best speeds and experience from Vodafone Idea would feel like this plan is worth purchasing. It is a decision made in the right direction as it will improve ARPU and give customers something to look forward to, but will it make any difference, we will have to wait for some time to find that out. There’s also the question of how much 4G data can a customer really exhaust in one hour to find this plan useful. Also, the 1 Hour unlimited pack its not something new, as Vi has this plan earlier too and just reintroduced.

But without raising any more questions, we will move to the other plan, which is the Rs 49 plan.

Vodafone Idea Rs 49 Plan - Super Day

Well, well, well, Vodafone Idea, what are you trying to do? 6GB of data for 1 day for Rs 49 (yes, this is what you get with this plan). It doesn’t seem like an offer that would sit very well with many people. The reason why I called these plans brilliant is because they are unique and serve as a great platform for testing grounds.

The telco can see if customers are really ready to pay such amounts for plans with one-day validity. If successful, it will not only help in boosting ARPU but also be a sweet thing for customers.
