Vivo Z1x Goes Official in India as Vivo Z1 Pro Successor: What are the Differences?

For better cameras and an in-display fingerprint scanner, users can opt the Vivo Z1x and for a bigger battery & punch-hole camera, you can choose the Vivo Z1 Pro.

Highlights
  • The Vivo Z1 Pro has a 5000mAh battery and punch hole display on the front
  • The Vivo Z1x is all about the looks and cameras

Vivo Z1x is the second smartphone from Vivo to launch under the new Z series of phones. After the success of Vivo Z1 Pro, Vivo has announced the Vivo Z1x with similar specifications and minor upgrades over the former. Compared to the Vivo Z1 Pro, the Z1x ships with a 48MP primary camera sensor and the phone now has a traditional teardrop notch display on the front. That said, the Vivo Z1x lacks the 5000mAh battery, which was one of the key features of the Z1 Pro. Both the phones are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 712 SoC and the newer model has an in-display fingerprint scanner & AMOLED display. With more features comes an increased price, right? It holds true for the Vivo Z1x as well as the phone now starts at Rs 16,990, compared to the Rs 14,900 price tag of the base variant of Vivo Z1 Pro.

Vivo Z1 Pro vs Vivo Z1x: Differences in Specifications

Kicking off with the display, the Vivo Z1x has a 6.38-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED screen on the front with a teardrop notch and in-display fingerprint scanner. On the other hand, the Vivo Z1 Pro has an IPS LCD display with a punch hole; Notably, the Z1 Pro was the cheapest phone in the country with a punch home camera. They both are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 712 SoC– a chipset aimed at gamers.

However, the Vivo Z1x’s base variant ships with 6GB of RAM this time around. The Vivo Z1 Pro was made available in three variants- 4GB+64GB, 6GB+64GB and 6GB+128GB, whereas the Vivo Z1x comes in two variants- 6GB+6GB and 6GB+128GB. There’s a microSD card slot on the Vivo Z1 Pro, but the Vivo Z1x lacks it.

Vivo has even upgraded cameras on the Vivo Z1x. The phone now sports a 48MP Sony IMX512 chipset with f/1.79 aperture, which works in tandem with an 8MP wide-angle sensors and a 2MP depth sensor. The Vivo Z1 Pro arrived with a primary 16MP shooter with f/1.78 aperture, 8MP wide-angle sensor and a 2MP depth sensor. On the front, both the phones offer a 32MP camera with Full HD shooting capabilities.

They run Android 9 Pie-based FunTouch OS out of the box. The Vivo Z1x has a smaller battery of 4500mAh battery and it now supports 2.5W fast charging; To recall, the Vivo Z1 Pro arrived with a 5000mAh battery and 18W fast charging support. So, Vivo has decreased the battery capacity and added fast charging support.

Vivo Z1 Pro vs Vivo Z1x: How the Pricing Differs?

At an event in New Delhi today, Vivo launched the Vivo Z1x in two variants- 6GB+64GB model priced at Rs 16,990 and the 6GB+128GB model priced at Rs 18,990. The Z1x comes in just two colour options- Fusion Blue and Phantom Purple.

On the other hand, the Vivo Z1 Pro was launched in three variants- 4GB+64GB model at Rs 14,990, 6GB+64GB model at Rs 16,990, and the 6GB+128GB model at Rs 17,990. The Z1 Pro also comes in two colours- Sonic Black and Sonic Blue.

Also, it looks like Vivo will sell both the Z1 Pro and Z1x in India since they feature different specs. For better cameras and an in-display fingerprint scanner, users can opt the Vivo Z1x. For a bigger battery and punch-hole camera, you can choose the Vivo Z1 Pro.

Does it supports CA??

Probably 300Mbps(2 band CA)only. Snapdragon 730 phones will have like 600Mbps(3 band CA and 4×4 MIMO on 1 band)/800Mbps(3 band CA and 4×4 MIMO on 2 bands) modem. So I wouldn’t suggest going for this phone for CA.

I doubt mate. None of the phones under 20000 support CA.

K20 with 730 does. I’m hoping Lenovo Z6 supports 3CA(600/800Mbps), and I hope Realme XT Pro gives 800Mbps modem too.

K20 costs 24000 right now. No sd card slot. No NFC. Camera sensor with no 4K 60Fps(Shit phone for the price). Only Lenovo Z6 Pro might support it. But priced too much high. One Plus 6T supports 4CA(but we can test it next year only). I hope Airtel gets 10Mhz in band 40(preferably 20Mhz), 10Mhz in band 28,5Mhz in band 5 and completes 20Mhz in band 1 in some circles and gets the lead for couple of years. Yet no single phone from Realme supports CA and you are talking about 800Mbps modem. That’s too much too ask for. But… Read more »
