Vivo, a Chinese smartphone maker, is going to launch a new smartphone in India. The device maker is going to update the 'V' series in the country with Vivo V50. Vivo has already confirmed the device, just the date has not been confirmed. While a February launch is confirmed, the company has shyed away from giving the exact date of the launch. In a recent teaser poster, Vivo said that there are 17 days more to go for the launch of the Vivo V50. This poster was released on February 1, 2025. Thus, we can now expect that the launch could take place on February 18, 2025.

Vivo's V50 Series in India
Vivo's V50 is expected to be a rebranded or slighly modified version of the Vivo S20. The latter launched in China in late 2024. Thus, Vivo V50 is expected to come with a 6.67-inch AMOLED micro-quad curved display with 1.5K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate support. The device will run on Android 15 based on Funtouch OS 15.
One thing which is already confirmed just by looking at the poster is that Vivo V50 will come with ZEISS tuned camera system. This is what Vivo also offers with its premium X series devices such as the Vivo X200 series launched recently.

As per media reports, Vivo V50 is expected to feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 SoC coupled with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of UFS 2.2 internal storage. The device could feature a large 6000mAh battery with 80W fast-charging support. There could be a 50MP sensor at the front with auto-focus support.
The device is likely to also come with IP68 and IP69 rating with an in-screen fingerprint sesnor. As far as the pricing is concerned, the device will likely sell for Rs 37,999 (the entry-leve point for the base variant).
