Uninor has put up a coming soon in Assam banner on its website indicating it is nearing launch in the circle. The operator currently hold 6MHz 1800MHz spectrum in the circle.

After supreme court cancelled it’s 22 license in 2012, Uninor was only able to get back spectrum in Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharastra, UP East/West and Bihar and have to closed down its operations in all other circles. In February 2014 auction, Uninor was able to bag 6MHz of 1800MHz spectrum in Assam, which was enough for re-entry into the circle. Till date Uninor has not announced date of commence of operations, but has updated its website with coming soon in Assam message.
Uninor’s come back to the circle will bring it’s Sabse Sasta (most affordable) tariff to Assam users and more competition for existing players in the state.
