Samsung Galaxy Note 3 has been launched in India and it is being held against Sony’s Xperia Z Ultra. So let us skip the jibber-jabber and get going right away by comparing the two devices.
Let us have a comparative look at these two devices to deduce which one is better:
Built: The dimensions of Galaxy Note 3 are 5.95 x 3.12 x 0.33 inches and it weighs about 168 grams. On the other hand, the dimensions of Xperia Z Ultra are 7.06 x 3.63 x 0.26 inches and it weighs about 212 grams. It is also dust and water resistant. Since both of them stretch beyond the single-hand use size, I’ll put a plus one in favour of the Xperia Z Ultra because it brings water and dust resistance to the table.
Display: The Note 3 carries a Super AMOLED touch display of 5.7 inches. Xperia Z Ultra comes with a 6.4 inch TFT touch display. Both the phones offer 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution. 6.4 inches seems a bit of an overstretch so Note 3 gets a point in its favour in this department. Scores tied.
Processor: Both the smartphones come with quite the capable processors. The Xperia Z Ultra has been equipped with Quad core 2.2 GHz Krait 400 processor whereas the Note 3 gets a 1.9 GHz Exynos Octa Core processor which is essentially two quad core processors put together. The Xperia Z Ultra emerges out as the better of the two in the processing department.
Operating System: The Galaxy Note 3 functions on Android 4.3 version, however, Xperia Z Ultra functions on Android 4.2.2 version. Note 3 again makes things equal by running on a slightly newer version of Android.
Memory: The Galaxy Note 3 comes with a RAM of 3072 MB and an inbuilt storage of 32 GB. While Xperia Z Ultra offers a RAM of 2048 MB and inbuilt memory of 16 GB. Both the phones feature expandable memory of up to 64 GB. And with this, the Note 3 gets the lead.
