PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia International (Telin), a subsidiary of Telkom Indonesia, in partnership with PT Citranet Sarana Digital (Citra Connect), has inaugurated a new Cable Landing Station (CLS) at Nongsa Digital Park, Batam. This facility is a significant step in advancing Indonesia’s digital connectivity and strengthening its role in the global digital ecosystem. The new landing station provides the operator with a new site for international connectivity, after previously using Tanjung Bemban as its major landing point.

CLS in Nongsa Digital Park
The CLS, part of the Indonesia Cable Express (ICE) submarine cable system comprising seven cable systems, connects Indonesia to key hubs such as Singapore, Malaysia, the Middle East, East Asia, Australia, and the USA. It replaces Tanjung Bemban as a key landing point, enhancing Batam's role as the nation's primary gateway for international connectivity.

The CEO of CFU WIB Telkom Group, stated, "By enhancing Batam's role as a primary gateway for global connectivity, we are one step closer in realising Telkom Group's vision in creating a robust foundation for the development of data centers in Batam and beyond. This effort aligns seamlessly with Telkom's efforts in becoming a key player in the data center ecosystem, enabling Indonesia to thrive as a leader in the global digital economy."
The Chairman of Citramas Group also added, "The Nongsa Digital Park Special Economic Zone is a strategic initiative to advance Indonesia’s digital economy by combining advanced education, cutting-edge infrastructure, and data center investments to create high quality jobs for Indonesian talent. In partnership with Telin, this project will establish Batam as a globally connected, high-tech data center hub."
The CEO of Telin, emphasised, "This partnership is an important milestone in order to lay the foundation for future connectivity enhancement and expansions of international subsea connectivity projects. The CLS will serve as landing points of 4 cable systems predominantly ICE Cable Systems. Looking into the future, we are equipping ourselves with the infrastructure and vision necessary to anticipate new technological advancements and connectivity needs across Indonesia and beyond."
