Telesoft Technologies, a leading provider of media, monitoring and signaling platforms for wireless, fixed and next-generation networks, announced the TDAPI 3G-324M Access API software allowing application developers and OEMs to develop video products including multimedia servers and gateways in 3G cellular mobile networks.
The TDAPI 3G-324M Access API software is used in conjunction with Telesoft’s range of MPAC Telephony Boards to connect to 3G-324M capable terminals in mobile cellular networks.
Video may be streamed from an IP based media server or the host storage to the handset (and vice versa). Hardware acceleration of the video stream conversion (bit-stream to/from packet data) reduces the server load.
Up to 240 simultaneous 3G-324M multimedia sessions may be established for value added subscriber video applications including entertainment and information.
The TDAPI API software may use BICC/ISUP call control to set up multimedia sessions but it also features a 3G-324M video detection algorithm which can be used in monitoring applications where call control signalling is not present. Upon detection of a video call the video application can decide to record the video call to hard disk
