Telenor starts 4G in Dehradun, rolls out super saver 4G plans for customers at Rs 11

Telenor India today announced the launch of a pilot to deliver high speed 4G services for its customers in Dehradun. Subscribers will now experience high speed wireless mobile internet on the company’s advance network architecture and get on to the digital super highway to cater to their data needs.

Prior to Dehradun, the company launched its 4G services in Agra in the month of June and got encouraging response witnessing 100 % growth in subscribers’ month on month.

Speaking on the occasion, Anil Kumar, Circle Business Head – UPW, Telenor India, said “We are really excited to offer high speed 4G services to our Dehradun customers. With 100 percent sites being ready in the city with advanced equipment and efficient spectral deployment, the company is geared up to offer superior speed and better experience at affordable price. Our 4G plans are very cost effective and provide best deal to customers in this market. In addition to this, the network is energy efficient and much more reliable. This makes Telenor network one of the best in the city both on voice and data services.

4G special tariff vouchers (STV) of Telenor will be offered at three different price points of Rs. 11, Rs. 147 and Rs. 247. While the call rates of each STV offered by Telenor remains @ 1 paisa / 2 second, STV 11 offers 100 MB of 4G data with the validity of 1 day, STV 147 offers 1GB data for 28 days and STV 247 offers 2GB data for 28 days. Customers can avail this offer by walking into any of the fully functional Telenor branded stores and retail outlets in Dehradun.

The pilot in Dehradun follows the successful test pilot of Telenor’s 4G services across its 6 circles in Varanasi, Vizag, Amravati, Agra, Anand, Lucknow, Ranchi, Vijayawada, Tenali, Eluru, Bhimavaram, Dhanbad and Warangal. With this Telenor has moved a step closer to its ambition of Internet for All and becoming the preferred partner in the digital life of its customers.

Telenor announced the modernization of its entire network in UP West in 2015. As of now 64% of its sites have been modernized. To make its network future ready, Telenor has deployed latest Technology Equipment that provides superior voice and data experience. At the sites that have been migrated to the new technology, Telenor has reduced congestion and increased data throughput resulting in an improved network experience for its customers. This is one of the biggest network modernization deal made by Telenor Group across its business units.
