Telenor India seems to have met with a network outage in Uttar Pradesh (UP) East and UP West since morning. The operator took itself to Twitter to announce the outage.
“Due to some unfortunate incidents in UP East and UP West’, networks in some areas in both the circles has been impacted,” a message on the Twitter stated. “We regret the inconvenience caused to our customers and assure you we are taking swift action for early restoration of our sites.”
According to Telenor India, it has formed a task force along with its vendor partner to restore networks in these areas. However, it is not clear what “unfortunate incident” has occurred in the aforementioned circles for the network outage.
Soon after, there was also an update from Telenor India stating that the restoration is currently underway. The update also mentioned few “fiber cuts” in some areas, which the operator stated that it will solve on priority.
Telenor, which currently has 52.4 million subscribers, recently completed the largest commercial deployment of Huawei's Blade Site wireless base-station solution in India with more than 10000 new sites installed across six circles.
Besides strengthening its network, Telenor India was also focusing on launching some affordable data packs. Recently, Telenor India launched an exclusive night data packs, starting from Rs. 2 to Rs. 48 with validity ranging from 1 to 28 days in its six operating circles. These packs are valid for usage between 11 pm and 7 am, and offers data benefits up to 1 GB.
