TDSAT Aircel SMS issue

The matter will come for hearing again on January 10, 2013. The 5 paise, which the telecom tribunal has asked to pay is half of the termination fee that is being sought by Vodafone.

TDSAT has also directed Vodafone to immediately restore interconnection of SMS generated on Aircel's network.

On Nov 22nd, Aircel had moved TDSAT after Vodafone blocked text messages on its network across the Chennai, Tamil Nadu, New Delhi and Karnataka circles.

Since November 9, Bharti Airtel had also blocked Aircel’s SMS on its network, following a dispute on interconnect charges.
