Tecno Spark Power is the latest smartphone from the Transsion Holdings brand and it packs a massive 6000mAh battery. The Tecno Spark Power takes on the budget phones like the Xiaomi Redmi 8 and Realme 3i. The phone features a gradient back panel, triple rear camera setup and it runs Android 9 Pie out of the box. Unlike the recently launched Infinix and Tecno phones under Rs 10,000, the Spark Power does not feature a punch-hole display, instead, it has a teardrop notch on top of the screen that houses the selfie camera. The Tecno Spark Power comes in a single variant with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage and it's priced at Rs 8,499 in the Indian market.

The Tecno Spark Power is an interesting budget smartphone because the specifications are pretty decent for the asking price of Rs 8,499. The handset features a 6.3-inch HD+ display on the front with a 2.4D curved glass on top and teardrop notch. The phone measures 9.17mm in thickness and weighs 198.2 grams. It comes in two colour options- Alphenglow Gold and Dawn Blue. Under the hood, the Spark Power has the MediaTek Helio P22 chipset which is not at all a bad option to have in the budget segment.

As for the RAM and storage, the phone comes in a single variant with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage. There's a microSD card slot as well for storage expansion up to 256GB. The handset runs Android 9 Pie-based HiOS 5.5 out of the box and it may receive Android 10 update in the coming months, but nothing is confirmed from Tecno officially.

Tecno has added triple camera setup on the rear side of the Spark Power. There's a primary 13MP lens on the back, an 8MP wide-angle shooter, followed by a 2MP macro sensor. With a dedicated macro sensor, the Spark Power also takes on the Motorola One Macro is also priced under Rs 10,000. Connectivity options on the Tecno Spark Power include Dual 4G, VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, GPS and a Micro USB port. Tecno has even managed to add a fingerprint scanner on the rear side of the smartphone. Additionally, to unlock the smartphone, users can take help from the software-based Face Unlock feature.

Lastly, the Tecno Spark Power is backed by a massive 6000mAh battery which is the USP of the handset. We have seen brands launching phones under Rs 10,000 with 5000mAh battery capacities, but Tecno has taken in even further and added a whopping 6000mAh unit similar to the Samsung Galaxy M30s. It will be interesting to see how the smartphone performs in real life, especially in the battery life section.

Tecno Spark Power vs Xiaomi Redmi 8: What You Need to Know

On paper, the Tecno Spark Power seems like a great smartphone, especially with the massive 6000mAh battery and Helio P22 chipset. But there's some decent competition for the smartphone from the Xiaomi Redmi 8. The newest member to the Xiaomi's budget family offers a 6.5-inch HD+ display, teardrop notch, Gorilla Glass 5 protection, Snapdragon 439 SoC, dual rear cameras of 12MP+5MP, MIUI 11-based on Android 9 Pie and 5000mAh battery with 18W charging support.

The Spark Power has some advantages going for it on paper like the 6000mAh battery, triple rear camera setup and a 13MP front-facing camera. Besides, the processing power on both the phones will be on the same level.
