Over time, Tata Sky has surely rolled out new offers, discounts and cashbacks for the subscribers to lure the customers to its DTH platform. However, when it came to multi-TV policy, Tata Sky was the operator which was far behind every other DTH company. But then Tata Sky brought some changes to its multi-TV policy to make it more attractive for the subscribers who wanted more than one connection for their home. Now to do that, Tata Sky did not only make the connection cheaper for the subscribers but it also made the Set-Top Box more affordable for the subscribers who were getting a second connection. Now, the Tata Sky Set-Top Box for multi-TV users comes with a Rs 300 discount. This means that the effective price of the Tata Sky Set-Top Box is Rs 1,199 for the DD variant, whereas for the SD variant of the Set-Top Box it is Rs 1,099.

Tata Sky HD Set-Top Box Available at Discounted Rate for Multi TV Users

As mentioned above, Tata Sky allows a maximum of three Multi TV connections from one primary connection. The primary connection HD Set-Top Box price will be Rs 1,499, whereas the 2nd, 3rd and 4th connection HD Set-Top Box price will be reduced to Rs 1,199. It could be a limited period offer being run by the company to lure more subscribers on board. Also, it's surprising that the standard SD Set-Top Box users can get a secondary SD STB for Rs 1,800, considering the price of original Tata Sky SD Set-Top Box price is Rs 1,399 currently. Maybe the company is pushing users to choose an HD connection only. The difference between HD and SD Set-Top Box prices is just Rs 100, after the recent price cut made by the company.

Overall, if a customer chooses all the three Multi TV connections, then the HD Set-Top Box charges will reach Rs 3,597, excluding the primary HD Set-Top Box that's available for Rs 1,499.

Other DTH operators are charging standard Set-Top Box rates for Multi TV users, so it's a good move from the company. Notably, Tata Sky +HD Set-Top Box can be availed for Rs 8,900.

Tata Sky Multi TV Policy Detailed

Back in June this year, Tata Sky got rid of its Multi TV policy and it's now called 'Tata Sky Room TV' service. Under the Room TV service, Tata Sky is finally allowing users to choose different channels on secondary connections. Before the Room TV service, the DTH operator just allowed users to mirror the channels which are selected for the primary connection on secondary connections, but it's now entirely different. With this move, Tata Sky has placed itself against other DTH operators who are providing separate channel packs for Multi TV users for a long time.

Additionally, customers are required to pay Rs 153 Network Capacity Fee (NCF) for every secondary connection they have. For example, if you have two secondary connections active, then the full NCF charges of Rs 153 are applicable for the two connections and the primary connection. But on the brighter side, Tata Sky is at least allowing users to choose the channels they watch on secondary connections.

Tata Sky Cashback Offer

It is worth noting that a discount on the Set-Top Box for multi-TV users is not the only benefit that Tata Sky is shipping for its users. But, the subscribers of a single connection can also take the benefits of the Tata Sky Cashback Offer. Under this offer, the subscribers have to recharge their Tata Sky account with the amount equivalent to their yearly rental, that is twelve times their monthly rental. After they make the payment, Tata Sky is going to credit one month worth of rental to their Tata Sky account. This means that subscribers will be able to enjoy 13 months of service on 12 months of payment. It is also worth noting that the cashback for the subscribers gets credited within 48 hours.
