Starting from today Tata Sky has stopped activating new south base packs for its subscribers in rest of India (ROI) which implies all states except for the 5 southern states of Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka and Puducherry. Initially a subscriber based in a northern Indian state could also subscribe to a south base pack, but from today this will not be possible. Existing ROI subscribers who have subscribed to long term south packs or are already on monthly south packs will be allowed to renew their subscription on expiry of their existing pack. Existing ROI subscribers who are currently on south pack but choose to upgrade or downgrade their base pack to non south pack will not be allowed to resubscribe to south base pack.
New and existing subscribers of Tata Sky in Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka and Puducherry can avail of South special and south sports special packs while subscription to south sports pack is only available for existing south zone subscribers and not for new acquisitions. Tata sky is revamping its content offering as well as pricing, it recently launched the world's cheapest DTH daily recharge voucher priced at Rs.8 per day. Currently Tata Sky's customers are a little irked with the operator due to disruptions in the transmission of TV signals due to its ongoing technology upgrade.
