Tata Sky Reveals New Prices for Multi-Connection Users, Major Differences in Pricing Noted

DTH operator Tata Sky has been in the news for a while now- right from launching new channel packs to the consumers to the ongoing tussle with telecom regulator Trai. The sector regulator has already directed DTH operators to offer special packs to the users. Following the same, D2h, Airtel Digital TV and Dish TV issued new multi-connection prices to the users, and now, Tata Sky has come up with the same. However, Tata Sky's approach towards multi-connection users is a bit different and consumers can notice a lot of difference in the pricing compared to older multi-connection prices of Tata Sky. Some might even call it exorbitant pricing when compared to other operators.

New Pricing Brackets for Multiple Connections

The new price brackets for Tata Sky multi-TV outline that if you have a primary connection with a monthly rental of up to Rs 100, exclusive of the NCF, then you will only have to pay Rs 150 for the multi-TV connection. Similarly, a primary subscription with rental between Rs 101 and Rs 200 will spend Rs 200 on their secondary connection, a primary connection subscriber between Rs 201 and Rs 300 will pay Rs 250, a primary subscription between Rs 301 and Rs 400 will spend Rs 300, a parent subscription of Rs 401 to Rs 500 will pay Rs 400. Subsequently, primary connections with rental of Rs 501 and Rs 625 will pay Rs 500 for multi-TV connection, and the primary connection with rental between Rs 626 and Rs 750 will pay Rs 600 for multi-TV connection. Further, monthly subscription upwards of Rs 751 will pay Rs 700 for the secondary connection. It is worth noting that the primary connection cost being discussed here is exclusive of NCF.

Having said that, these prices are pretty much similar to what the current multi-TV policy of Tata Sky. Hopefully, Tata Sky listens to its subscribers and reduces the prices even further.

Discount on Channel Packs for Multiple Connection Holders

It is worth noting that Tata Sky is also going to extend the benefit to holders of multiple connections in other ways as well. The channel packs of Tata Sky will also be available for a lower price for the holders of a secondary Tata Sky connection. For example, Hindi Lite channel pack of Rs 295 will be up for a subscription at Rs 150, and also the Hindi Basic Pack of Rs 334 will bear the same price. The Family Kids pack of Rs 365 will have a price tag of Rs 200, Family sports of Rs 456 will be available for Rs 300, Family kids sports pack of Rs 464 will be available for subscription at Rs 300, while the Premium sports English pack of Rs 522 will be available Rs 300. On the same lines, HD channel packs of Tata Sky will also be available for a lower price.
