Sun Direct SD+ and HD+ Set-Top Box Prices Now Start at Rs 1,799, Competes With Dish TV and D2h

Sun Direct is now offering its Set-Top Boxes at a starting price of Rs 1,799. Sun Direct, which is the popular DTH service provider across South Indian states, is currently offering two types of Set-Top Boxes to the customers. Similar to other DTH operators, Sun Direct has an SD+ Set-Top Box and a premium HD+ Set-Top Box, priced at Rs 1,799 and Rs 1,999, respectively. Right now, Airtel Digital TV and Tata Sky are providing the cheapest Set-Top Boxes in the industry, whereas Dish TV, D2h and Sun Direct are on a similar range. Sun Direct does not have a strong foothold in North India, but in states like Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka, it's giving a tough competition to the top guns like Tata Sky and Dish TV. Sun Direct is also providing decent channel packs to the subscribers in various regional languages.




Sun Direct SD+ and HD+ Set-Top Boxes: What are the Prices?

According to the latest information available, the Sun Direct SD+ Set-Top Box can now be picked up for Rs 1,799, while the HD+ Set-Top Box is retailing for Rs 1,999. Sun Direct allows the new users to book a connection via its website and they can even choose channel pack online itself.

As for the channel packs, Sun Direct customers can choose DPO packs in various languages including Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Bengali, Marathi and ODIA. Additionally, there are some Rest of India (ROI) channel packs available as well. While the channel packs for new users are limited, existing Sun Direct customers have the option to choose from a wide range of channel packs.

For example, Sun Direct is offering four Curated Packs- Telugu DPO Pack 1, Telugu DPO Pack 2, Telugu DPO Pack 3 and South DPO Pack 4 for the users located in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana states. Almost in every regional language, Sun Direct is providing a minimum of three curated packs dubbed as Sun Direct DPO packs. Sun Direct even has dedicated Curated Packs for HD+ Set-Top Box users.

Besides the Curated Packs, Sun Direct users also have the choices to choose Sun Direct Bouquets like English Jodi Pack, Hindi Jodi Pack, Hindi Movie Jodi Pack, Kannada Jodi Pack, Malayalam Jodi Pack, Odia Jodi Pack, Tamil Jodi Pack, Telugu Jodi Pack, Bengali Jodi Pack, Kids Jodi Pack and Marathi Jodi Pack. Besides the Sun Direct Curated and Sun Direct Bouquets, the DTH operator also has Broadcaster Bouquets and A-la-Carte channels as well for the subscription.

Sun Direct Offering Up to Rs 150 Cashback on Long-Term Recharges

Similar to other DTH operators like Dish TV, D2h, Tata Sky and Airtel Digital TV, Sun Direct is also running an 'Instant Cashback Offer,' for existing users. Sun Direct is offering up to Rs 150 cashback on a recharge of Rs 3,000 and above. Besides, the DPO packs mentioned above are also available for subscription for up to one year, so this instant cashback offer will come as handy for the long-term pack users.

The Telugu DPO Pack 1 of Sun Direct is currently available at Rs 190.67 for one month, Rs 533.89 for three months, Rs 1,016.1 for six months and Rs 2,007.92 for 12 months. Similarly, there are other DPO Packs available for yearly subscription from Sun Direct.
