STT GDC India Partners with UP Government to Develop AI City Project
Data centre solutions provider ST Telemedia Global Data Centres India (STT GDC India) has signed an MoU with the Uttar Pradesh Government to develop the country's first AI City. "The initiative places a significant focus on fostering a robust AI ecosystem through the establishment and optimisation of cutting-edge data centres and computing infrastructure," STT GDC India said in a statement on Wednesday, December 18.

Investments in Data Centre Infrastructure

STT GDC India will leverage its expertise in colocation and data centre services, collaborating with its partner ecosystem to deploy state-of-the-art AI computing infrastructure. According to the company, this will drive innovation across industries, startups, research institutions, and governance, supporting Uttar Pradesh's vision of becoming a USD 1 trillion economy by 2027.

The company has already invested Rs 4,100 crore in the state, with its first data centre park operational in Noida and further developments underway.

AI City Vision

Lalit Khanna, COO of STT GDC India, praised the government's vision, stating, "The AI City envisioned by the GoUP will serve as a pioneering move to create and foster an AI ecosystem to drive innovation, broad based access to digital infrastructure and services, with long term positive ramifications for the State's economic growth."

This collaboration will help enhance Uttar Pradesh as a leader in digital innovation and a destination for digital investments, the official release said.
