India's Spice Group announces strategic partnership with Huawei to launch "S Huawei" brand in the India market with overall target to sell 10 million mobile phones in the current fiscal, including 7.5 million 2G handsets from domestic and international sales.
The company will launch 7-10 series of mobile phones under this partnership in the near future. The first in a series of 3G smart phone Ascend Y 100 has recently been launched in the market. Spice plans to sell approximate 1 million S Huawei handsets this fiscal.
Spice has also tied up with Google for Android handsets. The company aims to sell approximate 1.5 million android 2G WiFi and 3G handsets in partnership with Google.
The "S Huawei" Ascend Y 100 is a first-of-its-kind smartphone offering 5 seconds boot and slimmest in the category for Rs.5990. The phone will run on Android 2.3 Ginger Bread platform with powerful 800 MHz processor, enabling faster processing speed than any other provider in the same segment. Stylish 2.8” touch screen with premium touch panels, sleek and compact designadd to the ravishing look of the handset and provide rich user experience.
The handset also packs in 3.2 megapixel camera and boasts of 1050mAh battery which provides talking time of 300 minutes and standby time up to 300 hours. It also offers unique features such as Huawei Android Platform (HAP) lite, smart music gear with rich apps on Google play & stereo loud speaker. 512MB ROM + 256MB RAMadd attractiveness to the phone.
The company has also partnered with operators to offer free 3G data plan with the handset for a period of 3 months in collaboration with Airtel in Delhi & Mumbai; with Aircel in Hyderabad & Bangalore and with Tata Docomo in Jaipur.
